OK Beth, I am learning a little bit at a time here! Thanks for your encouragement and your knowledge on all of this blog stuff!

We had a 14 year old Japanese boy stay with our family for a week. His whole middle school came to America for and American experience. Each of them were placed with a host family for the week. I'm sure it they were all a bit nervous about coming and living with a family they didn't even know. It took a lot of faith from them and their parents to do this. We jumped at the chance to be a host family! Tom served his mission in Japan and now Camron is following his dad's footsteps and serving in the same country!
We picked Kazuki up on a Tuesday evening around 8:30. He was tired and hungry. We stopped to pick up pizza for him. He was very quiet, but also very polite! He warmed up to us crazy, loud Americans! He is the only child and seemed to enjoy being with our family!
We helped him carve a jack-o-lantern, (the first he had ever done a weird thing like that!). We also dressed up and went trick or treating even though it was the week before Halloween. He was going to leave before the actual day, so we took candy around to all our neighbors and told them that we would be coming around that night. It was fun to be the only trick or treaters out that night.
We took him to Bridal Veil Falls, Sundance, Temple square and a play at the Scera theater. We also had fun recording him in the music studio while he played the guitar. He seemed to have fun with the kids playing ping pong, fuze ball, pool and Dance Dance Revolution!
It was sad to take him back to the bus on the next Tuesday morning! It was a great experience and we hope to keep in touch with him!
