Goodbye to the Cherry Bomb!

Just last week Tom was thinking we had never named our red van. In his mind he had decided it would be the "Cherry Bomb". Well, the Cherry Bomb lived up to it's name and left in a blaze of glory!
Camron, Tyler and Jansen were driving it home from the Timpanogas temple. Tom and I had been to the temple with them and left in the silver van. We stopped to get some rock chips fixed in American Fork. Just when we were getting finished Jansen called to tell us they had heard a clunck and things weren't working in the van. They pulled off the road and started seeing smoke and then flames. They got away and a cop just happened to be right there. It was exciting to be getting the play by play from the boys on the cell phone. They were also able to get a few pictures and video.
The Springville fire department was called. They had to put out the fire on the van and the surrounding grass that had ignited.
When Tom and I got there the excitment was all over. We were very grateful that our boys were all ok. They were all pretty stinky from the smoke, but they were all safe and sound!
The tow truck guy said we could pay him or give him the van and the title. Easy decision!.....Did not want that van in my driveway! So he took it in for scrap metal and the red van is no longer a part of our life!

Wow, that one is for the story books for sure. I'm so glad no one got hurt.

That is SO awesome!!! What day did it happen? I saw a van smoking a while back. (of course the most wonderful thing is that the boys were all OK ;) Many many blessings :)
